Al Shlosha D'varim HOMEWORK (due 9/23)

This winter we'll be performing "Al Shlosha D'varim" in Chorus...take a look at the following choirs singing, and tell me what you think on the following three performances.

Answer the following questions:
1. What is the choir doing well as far as observing dynamics?
2. How are the cut-offs, vowel sounds, and harmonies?
3. What is something you think Ms. Cordell would tell this choir to do differently? Use as much detail as possible.

1. I think the boys choir sung the song the best. they had really good dynamics.
2. the boys choir had very nice cutoffs. the only thing is that I couldn't really tell if they were doing a harmony or not because I couldn't hear them.
3. I think ms.cordell might tell them not to keep moving and swaying while they were singing. i thought i was going to punch one of the kids in the front row who was sitting there like swaying from side to side! it was very annoying.

I think that the first two groups didn't do a very good job of dynamics. All of the words seemed to run together, and the vowel pronunciations were not very good. They didn't "stretch" the vowels. The boys choir was very good at the dynamics, they did a lot of decrescendos and crescendos. They had very good pronunciation and they stayed at a tempo. I think that for the first one and the second one, Ms. Cordell would tell them that they need to sing with more passion, and more feel. They need to speak, Hebrew. They only spoke English in the fact that they didn't stretch the vowels. On a side note I also think that the first group should get better outfits, instead of wearing all black, and they all need to smile more, but that's just me. Overall, pretty good performances.

I think the boys choir sang Al Shlosha D'varim better because they really dropped the jaw and pronounced the vowels way better than the other choirs. I also liked the "uniforms" they were wearing; they much more formal than the other choirs' uniforms. They were also much louder than the other choirs and the soloist was so good. He was better than the first choir's soloist. Another thing that made them better than the other choirs was that they reached the high notes so much better than the girl choirs.

1. I think that the boys choir did better. I think that they did way better because they pronounced the words right. The boys also did better because they really dropped the jaw and were singing really loud. The boys were also breathing at the right time.
2.The boys cut-offs were really good and they were on time. There harmonies were like wow.
3. I think that ms. Cordell will tell the choir to stop swaying around and moving there hands.

1. I think the boys choir was the best of them all. They had really good dynamics.
2. The cut-offs were very good and the vowels where good aswell. The harmony wasn't loud enough so I wasnt able to hear them that well.
3. I think Mr.Cordell would tell them to sing a little more louder so everyone can hear thier beautiful vocies and to stand still!

1.) We think that the boys choir were the best out of the 3 choirs.
We think that the boys sang the best because they had a good soloist that had very good dynamics.

2.) The boys had nice cutoffs. i couldnt really hear the vowel sounds or the harmanies

3.) ms. Cordell would tell them that they needed to be on time with everybody else. ms.Cordell would also tell them that they needed to bring down their pitch because they are strugeling

Hello Ms Cordell.....

I thought that the boys choir was really good. They had good dynamics and sandg with the right pronunciations of all of the words. the other two groups werent really of my liking because they werent as loud and they didnt actually have the cutoffs right! the vowels were ok in all of the groups and the harmonies were ok too, but out of all three groups i liked the boys choir the most. I think that you, Ms Cordell would probably be yelling at them saying to have more emotion not breathing where they are not supposed to breath and to be lounder and have the cutoffs right, with of course having fun!!!!!!

I think the boys choir had the best dynamics, they also had good cutoffs I could actually understand what they were saying. Ms. Cordell would tell them they did a good job.

I think that the dynamic of the boys choir was amazing... i want to be that kid at the beginning.

I thought the cutoffs on the second choir were ok but they didnt pronounce the 'm' in kiyum.

I think Ms. Cordell would tell us to make sure to pronounce the words and to have energy...because the first choir sounded dead, wheres the beyonce?
